Castle Hill, Huddersfield

A leaflet describing two geological trails around Castle Hill, which is Huddersfield's most significant landmark and an important site for rocks and landscapes, was published in 2006. The leaflet is available in Tourist Information Centres, as well as in Victoria Tower, which is open at weekends during the summer. It can also be obtained by post from the West Yorkshire Geology Trust office (see Contacts page).
The two trails start close to the top of Castle Hill and follow tracks and footpaths to the north and south of the hill, encompassing the views and landscapes visible from the top. The routes are way-marked and guided walks take place from time to time.
