The
West Yorkshire Geology Trust is a small group of
geology enthusiasts from the West Yorkshire Region. The group attempt
to locate, log and monitor geology sites and try to protect and preserve
these areas of interest from unnecessary development. The group also
helps to provide information of an educational nature to raise awareness
of
the potential uses of these, and other known localities.
At the current time the West Yorkshire Geology Trust meet quarterly
at the Geological Records Centre, Crosland Hill, Huddersfield. If

Castle
Hill Trail The
group has designed a waymarked geological trail at Castle Hill, Huddersfield.
Awards for All sponsored the trail and the leaflet that
accompanies it.
The trail was launched in 2006 and has won an ENI award, presentation
on Friday January 5th at 7.00 at a Geologists Association meeting at Burlington
House, London.
